At times it is easy to forget how emotional and stressful this time can be for family members as well as patients.

Bluebonnet recognized this and began offering the services of a” patient advocate.” The job of a patient advocate is to listen to the concerns of the patients and their families. Every request or concern a family member has is approached with compassion and respect. Questions about any services are always welcome. The “patient advocate” is always available and ready to go that extra step to ensure a level of care that is second to none. Bluebonnet feels patient advocacy is on the cutting edge of the home health care industry and urges all other agencies to follow our lead. As the Patient Advocate I always try to keep the patient’s feelings and their perception of Bluebonnet’s care my main focus. Patients call me with a variety of questions. Some are very easy to answer such as, finding the phone number of a nurse or a billing issue. Others deal with emotional issues and take more understanding and special attention. I respect and value every Bluebonnet patient and work very hard to resolve any issues or answer any questions quickly.
